On September 8th both Middle School and High School Refuge worship experiences will be beginning a new sermon series entitled “Ask Anything”! During this series the students will choose the direction of each weekly message by asking questions  about God, church, etc. We are really excited about this series and providing biblical answers to real questions.

Silver Ring Thing//September 18th

On Saturday, September 18th we will load up the bus and travel to Heaston Community Church for this town-wide event. The Silver Ring Thing focuses on issues concerning to sexual purity all from a biblical perspective. It is a great event and we are glad to be attending it. The cost to attend is $5. See You at the Pole//September 22nd

Every September students join together from across denominational boundaries for one purpose– pray that God would move on their campus. This year will be no different. On September 22nd, SYATP will take place before school begins at Roblyer and at the high school.

Saw You at the Pole Rally//September 22nd

After SYATP we are joining together with churches from our association in Kingfisher for a post-pole rally. There will be food, inflatables, music and a gospel presentation. The cost to attend this year is $3. Click here for a parental consent form.

Home-coming After Party//September 24th

Following the home-coming football game El Reno Student Ministry will host an event featuring free food, free stuff and music from christian hip hop artists CedEnough & Lil Dre’! The event will last from 10:00pm unitl midnight and will be held at the FBCER worship center.

The conference is designed for women of all ages and from all walks of life. It does not matter if you are young or not so young this conference will have something for you. The conference is set to take place on September 25th from 9:00am-2:00pm. The cost to attend the event is $20. Lunch will be catered in from Primo’s Italian Restaurant and childcare will be available.

FBCER will be hosting “Bubba” Wright for our Family night this Saturday night.  Bubba uses object lessons that are entertaining but also teaches Biblical truth.  These lessons include balloons, fire, juggling, card tricks, and many more that will be entertaining for the entire family. 

You won’t want to miss this fun event!. Invite your friends, this events is for the entire community.

The Titus 2 Project is an initiative of FBCER to intentionally link together believers in a discipleship relationship. This stems from the belief that one of the main purposes of the church is to make mature disciples of Christ. This is for all ages and  we strongly encourage Sr. Adults all the way to teenagers to sign up.

If you are interested in participating in the Titus 2 Project, we ask that you would fill out the online form below (forms are also available at the church office) and plan on being a part of our evening service on Sunday, August 29 at 5:30p.  In that service we will help you get an idea of what this initiative is all about and begin the process of pairing you with a discipleship partner.

We hope and pray that you would be involved in a discipleship relationship that involves but is not limited to Bible study, Scripture memory, accountability & prayer. These groups will launch on September 12th at 5:00p.

With the craziness of summer ending, one of the things that comes with school starting back is some form of normalcy (whatever that means). In order to get back in the swing of things we are challenging everyone to make an effort to be in a Small Group and Worship Service on Sunday Morning, Sept. 12.  The hope is to get back in the swing of things together and kick off an exciting Fall at FBCER.  Mark it down and we’ll see you there.  By the way, we’d love for you to join us before then!

One of the key components of our church’s strategy for growth is small groups.  In these groups you have the opportunity to dive into a deeper level of study, discussion, and community than any other ministry of the church.  This is why emphasize them so heavily and encourage everyone to be a part of a group.  Each week our small groups meet at 9:30a.

On August 22 we will be having a night of small groups emphasis and training. It will start at 5:30p with a meal, followed by a large group time and break out sessions.  This emphasis and training is for everyone, not just leaders! The purpose of this evening is to refocus our groups for a new year and to train us in some areas that will ensure our effectiveness. Please mark this event on your calendar and plan on joining us for a night to build up our small groups.  The schedule is as follows:

5:30-6p – Meal

6-6:15p – Large group

6:15p- Dismiss to break-out sessions

6:30-7 – Break-out sessions (you choose: Leadership, OutReach/InReach, Fellowship)

7-7:30 – Dessert and wrap up (Large Group)

#1 God is working all things out for the good of the believer.  As we follow Christ we can rest assured that he is using all things for our good.  This is whay Paul writes in Romans 8:28-29 when he tells us that God is working all things out for the good of those who love Hiim and that He is using it to conform us to the image of His son.  So we see that in every event in life, God is using it for our good as he molds us and shapes us to be more like Christ.  We call this progressive sanctification.  This is why we can have joy in the midst of all of life because God is working it out for our maturity and betterment.

#2 For His Glory.  Bigger than our good though is the truth that all things are for the glory of God.  As believers this should be the greatest source of our joy, because it is the purpose of our creation.  We can have joy, because our desire and life should be about God being glorified, even if it means difficulty for us.  That is why Paul wrote that he wanted God to be honored in his body whether by life or by death (Philippians 1:19-20). Life will not always be easy but we find joy by living for him and honoring him with our lives.

I am praying for us as a church that we would find our joy in Him and that we would be willing to experience and endure whatever is necessary to bring him glory.

If you have a child in Pre-K to 5th grade, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to enroll them in this fun and educational ministry designed to teach them about Christ.  If you have questions call the church office.  FBC also has ministries for MS & HS students, as well as small children, and adults on Wednesday nights.

Part of the problem is while happiness is based on circumstances and things, it cannot be maintained, but joy on the other hand is sustainable in the midst of circumstances.  How?  Through the book of Philippians we will study how we can have true joy in our life through Christ.  13 times in the 4 chapters of Philippians Paul uses the word joy.  51 times in 104 verses he references Christ. He does this becuase he understood that our joy is found ultimately in Christ.

Join us every Sunday this summer (and probably longer) as we study through the book of Philippians and discover how we can find sustaining joy in Christ.

Yes! We understand that times are tough and that some people may need some assistance in paying the registration costs. We are offering a program this year called Falls Creek Adoptions. If you need help, just obtain the Falls Creek Adoption form, fill it out and turn it in with your registration envelope. (These forms will also be available online as well)
