Care Ministry
Through our Care Ministries we are attempting to take the words of Jesus very seriously when it comes to caring for the needy and widows. Throughout Jesus’ ministry He commanded us to take care of those in need. Jesus did more than command us with His words; He also modeled it with his actions.
Currently we are helping those in need through three different ministries:
The Shepherd’s House
The Shepherd’s House is a ministry that provides assistance to people in need with items such as clothes, small appliances & furniture. The Shepherd’s House is open every Tuesday from 10:00am-2:0pm and 5:30pm-7:30pm.
SWORD Ministry
SWORD is an acronym that stands for Single Moms, Widows, Orphans, Retired or Disabled. SWORD Ministry is a group of men and women that will help the people in the aforementioned categories with minor auto, home or miscellaneous repairs and assistance.
Celebrate Recovery
The vision of Celebrate Recovery at First Baptist El Reno is to serve others so they can step out of denial into God’s grace (2 Corinthians 12:9), take an honest and spiritual inventory that will help them connect with God and themselves and allow growth in Christ while helping others. We open the door by sharing our experiences, victories, and hopes with each other. In addition, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our problems.
Celebrate Recovery Can:
- Provide you a safe place to share your experiences, strengths and hopes with others who are going through the “Principles” on a Christ-centered recovery.
- Provide you a group facilitator who has gone through a similar hurt, hang-up or habit that will facilitate the group as it focuses on a particular Step each week. The facilitator will also keep Celebrate Recovery’s “5 Group Guidelines.”
- Provide you with the opportunity to find an accountability partner or sponsor
- Encourage you to attend other recovery meetings held throughout the week, if available
