A New Chapter

May 1, 2019

One of the things that is true about life is that things are always changing. Solomon realized this when he said in Ecclesiastes 3 that , “…there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” In life, one chapter closes and a new one begins. With this in mind, I am asking, “What do the next ten years look like at FBCER?”

Some of the changes have already begun as we are working through the process of implementing Eldership and reorganizing our leadership structure. I look forward to strengthening our deacon ministry with the addition of new deacons and in the next 18 months, we will have some retirements along with transitions among our Pastoral Staff. It is exciting to think about what God is going to do in the life of our church as he continues to write our story.

This Sunday, we will present Holden McCrackin as the prospective Next Gen/Missions Minister at FBCER. While one of Holden’s primary focuses will be Student Ministry, he will also provide leadership for our overall next generation ministry (kids and students) as well as lead us in the area of missions in our church. We have been able to see the hand of God at work as he has guided us and made it clear that this is the man to fill this important position in our church. I hope you will swing by our meet and greet at 8:45am on Sunday morning in the fellowship hall and say “Hi!” to him and his wife Krystle. He will also be sharing his testimony in the fellowship hall during our fundraiser meal following the service and there we will ask our membership to affirm him for this position.

God is at work, preparing us for a new chapter at FBCER. I hope you will be faithful and join us on the journey. Prayer is a must as we ask God’s guidance in the present and for the future.

For His glory and your joy,
Pastor Charlie
