Around Christmastime, we start singing lines like, “let every heart prepare Him room.” But do we always practice what we sing? It’s easy to sing that line on Sunday, but then forget it on Monday–especially in December. We’ve got decorations to put up, cards to go out, presents to buy, parties to attend, families to see, and the list could go on and on.  

Before you get lost in all of that, take some time to stop and think about how you will ready your heart for Christmas? And if you don’t already have a plan for that, consider using either of these two resources to help you (and your family).  

1) The Advent Family Worship Guide is a weekly resource for families with children, elementary-age and younger. Through readings from Scripture and the Jesus Storybook Bible (JSB), this devotional will help families see why Jesus’ coming is truly good news.  If you don’t have a copy of the JSB, they can be purchased in the church office for $10.    

2) The Advent Reading Plan is a resource for individuals and families with older children and teenagers. In just 24 days through 24 short readings, this plan will take you on a journey through Scripture, reminding you who Jesus is and what He came to do.
