2018 is a year of intention at FBCER. We want God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. We want to make the most of every opportunity with the lives that God has given us; living our lives with intention as we seek God’s plan and will. With this comes a calling to proclaim the message of the gospel through intentional gospel conversations with the people God has put in the pathway of our lives. All of this leads to an intentional opportunity that lies in front of us.

One of the most popular Christian songs in the 2000’s has been I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me. It has been sung at countless funerals and heard by millions on the radio. Churched and unchurched alike are familiar with this song but few know the story behind the lead singers and songwriters life that involves an absent mother and a harsh father and God’s provision in his life. In March of 2018, a movie based on this true story is being released and it contains a story of hope in Christ.

We are renting out a theater in El Reno on Friday, March 16th at 7:00pm for a viewing of this movie. Our goal is not simply for our church to have a movie night, but to have a night for us to be intentional by engaging unchurched and lost friends through inviting them to attend. The cost of a ticket is $5 for our members but free for the unchurched/lost guest you are inviting to attend with you. Currently we have 72 tickets available but we will try to get more if the need arises. We will also make available a question guide to help you have a gospel conversation with the person who is attending with you in the future.

Our hope is to help you engage people in your life with the hope of the gospel. This movie will provide a great opportunity for you to do this. Be praying about who you will be inviting, and seek to use this opportunity to introduce them to the joy and life that comes from our savior, Jesus Christ.
