Enemies of the Devoted Life
March 9, 2017
At this point, if you have been listening at all, you know our theme for 2017 is Devoted. Our desire is to live a life devoted to the Lord. This is the calling of Scripture, you and l “offering our bodies as living sacrifices to God” (Romans 12:2). We want to be all in, giving God our all, as we seek to live lives pleasing to God. For the most part, I think we would say this is our intent, yet it seems there are things that we are constantly battling with in our effort to live this kind of life.
Starting March 19, we will start a new two-part series on the seven deadly sins entitled, Enemies of the devoted life. We will look at things such as pride, anger, envy, lust, covetousness, gluttony, and slothfulness. Each of these things (sins) tend to rear their ugly heads in our lives and these things are definitely enemies of a life that is devoted fully to the Lord. I hope you join us each week as we seek to know more about these areas that we may put them to death in our lives. I want to ask you to pray as we prepare to share in this study together, asking God to reveal the areas that we struggle with and that he would supply the strength to enable you to fight and destroy these sins in your life.
For His glory and your joy,
Pastor Charlie
