Serve Through Praying

May 23, 2017

One of the expectations we have of all of the body of FBCER is that we would each find a way to serve the body. God has gifted and equipped each of us to serve each other (Romans 12 & 1 Corinthians 12). We have a variety of ways that you can do that and if you currently are not serving, let me encourage you to start now. One of the overlooked ways that you can serve the body is to be in continual prayer. One of the ways that we “love our neighbor as ourselves” is to spend time in prayer for one another. Who in the body have you prayed for lately? How have you gone to God on their behalf? Start serving the body now through prayer.

If you don’t know where to start, let me give you a few areas that you might use as a launching point for this important ministry.

Kids Camp – The last week of May we will take a large group of 4th-6th graders to Falls Creek for camp. For 3 days they will be challenged and taught from God’s word. Pray for Tyler, the kids, and adults.

Mission Santa Cruz – In June we will take a group of 25 students and adults to Santa Cruz, CA where we will serve alongside our church-plant partnership. Safety, success in serving, and gospel encounters are needed requests. Ask God to bless Drew and Shannon Cunningham as they continue to plant a church in Santa Cruz, CA.

VBS – The biggest evangelistic effort of the year for kids is VBS. For a week we have the opportunity to engage their hearts and minds with gospel truth through interactive teaching from God’s Word. We will have hundreds of kids walk through the doors of FBCER. Pray for salvations to take place. Pray for kids and workers.

Falls Creek – We will take JH & HS for two weeks to Falls Creek Youth Camp. This camp provides an opportunity for spiritual growth and evangelism. It is a vital part of our student ministry. Pray for Derek, sponsors, and students during this important week.

These are just a few areas that are in need of prayer. As you begin to serve through praying, God will open your eyes to other areas that are in need of your serving through praying.

For His glory and your joy,

Pastor Charlie
