Trunk or Treat… Another Way to Serve

October 19, 2017

On Sunday evening, October 29th FBCER will be hosting our annual Trunk or Treat. Over 1,000 people will gather up on our hill as we have our annual fall festival. Trunks will be decorated, food will be served, games will be played, and of course candy (lots of candy) will be given away. This is another opportunity for us to engage the community that God has called us to love, serve, and ultimately share the hope of the gospel with. Let me give you a few ways that you can help us make a difference for the kingdom with this event.

Attend–One of the simplest ways you can help us is to attend. Bring your family (if you’re single, bring yourself) and come rub elbows and engage with people in our community. Make an effort to meet someone new. Simply be here.

Invite–Invite your neighbors, classmates, and co-workers. Let them know about the event and personally invite them to come. This is a great way to connect with a neighbor that you may not know and have been looking for an opportunity to strike up a conversation with.

Decorate a trunk –We hope to have between 40-50 trunks decorated and ready to hand out candy and play games with our guests. Have fun, get creative, and decorate your trunk or bed of your truck.

Donate some candy –If you are unable to attend but want to help, donate some candy. We will use it I promise.

Serve –From food preparation, service, set-up and tear-down, we need loads of volunteers to help us make this event a success.

Reflect Christ –Above all, we want to reflect Christ, the hope of glory, in our lives. Come with a good attitude ready to engage our community, and let them see Christ in our attitudes and service.

You can connect with this event here; feel free to call the church office at 262-5453 if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you and thank you in advance for your help.

For His glory and your joy,

Pastor Charlie
