White Flags

February 4, 2019

As you drive up to church this week you will notice hundreds of white flags staked in the ground. Each of these flags represent individual members of our body who have written down what they are surrendering to the Lord. While surrendering our lives is not easy, it is filled with joy and a newfound freedom as we turn our lives over to the Lord to have his way. If you were not able to participate Sunday, we have some flags available, but let me ask you to do something every time you see or think about our white flags of surrender. First, pray about what God is asking you to surrender. Ask yourself if you are truly surrendering to the Lord. Use it as a checkpoint and a reminder of where you are and where God wants you to be. Second, pray for your brothers and sisters. Each of those flags represent a person who has committed to turn a difficult part of their life over to God. Ask God to empower each of us to surrender fully to him.

We are in this together. While each of us as individuals must be willing to surrender, we are wrong to think we are on this journey alone. Together, we the body of Christ, are on a journey to holiness, spiritual growth, and being used by God for his kingdom’s purpose. May we as a body, surrender ourselves to Him. May we encourage each other and pray for one another. May we hold high the standard God has set for us, and help each other along the way.

For His glory and your joy,
Pastor Charlie
